TERAGRAM'S DIRECT ANSWERS CHOSEN BY KMWORLD MAGAZINE AS TREND-SETTING PRODUCT OF 2006
Question-Answering Search Offering Recognized as
Visionary Knowledge Management Product
CAMBRIDGE, MA - December 4, 2006 -
Teragram, the leading provider of multilingual natural language processing technologies, announced today that its Direct Answers question-answering search offering is declared a "Trend-Setting Product of 2006" by KMWorld magazine. Direct Answers is selected from more than 1,500 products, and evaluated for its vision toward the future, usability, flexibility, adoption rate and total cost of ownership. This is the second consecutive year a Teragram product has appeared on KMWorld's influential Trend-Setting Products list.
Direct Answers, currently in use at AOL, is a search technology that seeks and quickly delivers short, specific answers to information-gathering queries, versus the traditional Website links provided by common keyword searches. Unlike other question-answering search offerings, Direct Answers uses Teragram's linguistic technologies to retrieve answers from unstructured, semi-structured and structured data. Teragram announced an enterprise version of the offering in June 2006.
"Assembling the list of Trend-Setting Products of 2006 is a year-long collaborative effort with editorial colleagues and analysts and, especially, users," says Hugh McKellar, KMWorld editor in chief. "Roughly 1,500 products from some 300 vendors are considered, and the ones listed here demonstrate exquisite execution designed for, and with input from, the most important
constituency of them all--their customers."
"We're honored that Direct Answers is named a Trend-Setting Product of the Year," said Yves Schabes, president of Teragram. "With Direct Answers for the Enterprise, Teragram is entering a whole new market as a stand-alone enterprise search provider, and we're hopeful to become a KM World trendsetter for 2007."
